Refular price is $ 399.99 Just one inch thick very light weight. It also features an 11.1 inch LCD display with LED back light. HD 1386 x 768 resolution. 256 HDD, 2 gig RAM DDR2, Intel Atom CPU 1.8 ghz.

You can plug in an external USB CD or DVD drive check outh my video unboxing HP dvd drive. This is a netbook and netbooks don’t come with built in optical drives that is why they are small and can go for hours on one charge.

Hmm its just a bit odd to have a 256gb hard drive, I thought they were 250gb. There are companies making 256gb solid state drives and you are correct they are very expensive, probably the cost of the netbook itself. If you did get a solid state drive you are really lucky.

Just the RAM I believe. The hard drive is in there solid, unless you want to risk voiding your warranty.

Not the graphics chip itself but the driver for the graphics. I don’t think you can upgrade any hardware on netbooks mabey just the RAM. and hard drive.

I don’t think you can update the graphics on a Netbook. As long as it can run Aero we’re fine, but otherwise you’ll have to rely on ZoomText, or MAGic, or whatever you use.

I want to upgrade to windows 7 on my other laptop for sure if I can get the family pack for windows 7 hom premium I can try it on the netbook. They did not tell me anything about it being eligible for a free upgrade and it did not include any such cupon. I should call acer and find out. I don’t think Microsoft sells retail bersions of starter. so I would have to use home premium. I did run the upgrade adviser and all the hardware is ready axxept the graphics chip I would have to get an update.

Do you plan on upgrading to Windows 7, and if so, is this eligible for free upgrade? If you can, run Windows 7 Home Premium. Do not get basic or Starter. There is an Aero-based full screen magnifier in 7, but Aero must be turned on for it to work.

Netbooks usually do not. I do wish they made better use of the right hand side on this model, perhaps adding some extra USB ports.
